A művészet nem ismer határokat: a két tervező, akinek jóvoltából mostantól hintázhatnak a gyerekek a mexikói-amerikai kerítésen keresztül, azt szerette volna elérni, hogy

egy örömteli, izgalmas és összehozó esemény

bontakozzon ki akciójuk révén.

Ezen az innovatív módon, a pink színű libikókákon együtt játszhatnak a határ két oldalán rekedt srácok. Az egy évtizede érlelődő projekt két professzor fejéből pattant ki, akik július 29-én végre megvalósíthatták álmukat.

Ronald Rael & Virginia San Fratello were honored at the second annual San Francisco Design Week Awards, hosted by the non-profit organization on June 20th at Pier 27, San Francisco. We received the Architecture Award which recognized the Cabin of 3D Printed Curiosities and the whole project team for its ground-breaking design and commitment to thought leadership in meeting the needs of a positive future for society. A szimbolikus helyszín sűrű, barátságtalan rácsai közé beékelődő libikókákról Rael azt írta Instagramon, hogy

a karrierem leghihetetlenebb tapasztalatai közé tartozik – egy történés, ami csupa közös örömmel jár.

Az installáció egy kedves hír a térségből eredő, felkavaró történetek közt. Múlt hónapban a Rio Grande-nál vízbefulladt kislány és apja fotója borzolta a kedélyeket; illetve a napokban derült ki az, hogy Donald Trump tovább építheti a kerítést, a Pentagon dollármilliárdjaiból, teszi hozzá a Huffington Post. Sajnos a legfrissebb hírek szerint a határőrség azóta gyorsan lebontotta az alkalmi játszóteret.

One of the most incredible experiences of my and @vasfsf’s career bringing to life the conceptual drawings of the Teetertotter Wall from 2009 in an event filled with joy, excitement, and togetherness at the borderwall. The wall became a literal fulcrum for U.S. – Mexico relations and children and adults were connected in meaningful ways on both sides with the recognition that the actions that take place on one side have a direct consequence on the other side. Amazing thanks to everyone who made this event possible like Omar Rios @colectivo.chopeke for collaborating with us, the guys at Taller Herrería in #CiudadJuarez for their fine craftsmanship, @anateresafernandez for encouragement and support, and everyone who showed up on both sides including the beautiful families from Colonia Anapra, and @kerrydoyle2010, @kateggreen , @ersela_kripa , @stphn_mllr , @wakawaffles, @chris_inabox and many others (you know who you are). #raelsanfratello #borderwallasarchitecture
