⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🌞 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ photography: @aucontrairephotography model: @aciddoll makeup/ styling by me! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It was a quiet, but surprisingly warm autumn day, when the sun shone through the tinted glass and created a spectacle only to be compared to a group of people dancing without a worry in the world. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It created an un unexpected warmth in the otherwise so cold Mausoleum and no tears would be shed today ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As the sun would paint the graves with colours, so it would paint their keeper. Bit by bit, pieces of tinted glass would manifest out of thin air, and gold thorns would grow around them, connecting to each other, becoming one, becoming her ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ She was to dance on their graves one last time, before the cold winter nights would fill the atmosphere. with an air so cold it would take your breath. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Xōchiquetzal 🦋 close-up ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ photography : @defotograafsanne model: @xueli_a for @dmamodels costume and makeup by me! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As the “snowbirds” of Angangueo arrived once again, or how other people call them “Monarch Butterflies”, they also brought forth a feeling of joy and reconciliation. They not only represented the start of the harvest but also the very souls of the ancestors. But while Families would come together to feast and celebrate the return of their loved ones, so would the butterflies come together for a very different reason. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It has been a long time since her name was spoken, but when the butterflies flocked together, they brought forth the earthly body of Xōchiquetzal, goddess of beauty, love, fertility, flowers, and vegetation. Bit by bit you would see her body appear, and the air would fill itself with a scent you could only compare to the combination of a bouquet of freshly picked flowers and the pleasant smell of ozone after a thunderstorm on a hot summer day. But while thunder often meant disaster, the annual rebirth of Xōchiquetzal ensured a good year to come ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Where she would stride, plants would grow, Where she would lay the earth would be fruitful, And where she would speak, life would start ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While most people have forgotten Xōchiquetzal, she hasn’t forgotten us. The feast itself had changed its form throughout the centuries, as humanity itself had changed, but there would be victims, nonetheless… ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Vatican had tried to stop these ancient predators by naming them, pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, gluttony, and sloth but as humans had longed for their very essence since before the pagan times, they would survive until the very end of times. People would flood the circus terrain, looking to fill the void inside themselves, and each one of these ancient ones would provide. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Gluttony herself would provide them with Sugar waffles, honey or sweet lollipops. It didn’t matter what flavour, or colour, but it never was enough. She would watch them stuff their faces, with sugar coated loathing and hatred, and while they would devour this unholy nectar, she would eat away their very soul. Piece by piece she would pick them apart, until there was only the essence of gluttony left. This in it’s turn would be made into a devilish sweet, used to lure and watch the next wave of guilty ones. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Don’t be fooled by the beautifully painted horses, the sugary smell of caramel or the friendly faces as it is a façade for what has brought forth humanity’s darkest of times. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ “I AM GONNA BE THE GREATEST ADVENTURER YOU HAVE EVER SEEN!” Gerard shouted, as he angrily marched out of gnome village, while sweeping his hobo stick firmly from left to right to emphasize his frustration. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These simple minded folk would be sorry for laughing at him when he announced his plans this morning. He would leave his home and travel to the wild red forests of the east to retrieve the pendants of time and save his village.
