She looked much much younger! [?Pic 3]? 13 year-old female dog “Elmo”. She loved Daikichi. [?Movie ] ?16 year-old male dog “Shin-chan.” According to his parents, he was attacked by a homeless dog some years ago and unfortunately lost his leg. ? This is Lake Shogetsu. ?The lake is 2 kilometers round. ?Altitude is 1,048m. We saw the trees and hotels beautifully reflected in the water.??????? ?Walking through the forest????, we finally arrived at Asama Falls??. Also, we enjoyed seeing the sunlight ☀streaming through trees????. Japanese people call such beautiful sheaves of sunlight in the woods “KOMOREBI.”?☀? Some linguists say that it has no single word within the English language that could be considered a direct translation. ???? ?We visited Uodome Falls in Kita-Karuizawa, Gunma Prefecture.?? “Uodome” means “a fence-like device across a stream for catching fish.”? Separated into three levels, it sends a clear stream down the black rocks?. It also provides a beautiful contrast to the vivid summer greens???. Our kitties love to be carried in a backpack.? ??We’ve been off to a mountain retreat in Kita-Karuizawa, Gunma Prefecture, to get away from the oppressive heat and humidity in Tokyo?. ?Pic① We took a picture of “smiling” Daikichi and Fuku-chan with ?Mt. Asama (elevation: 2,568m) in the background.?Pic② Kita-Karuizawa Station has been unused for around 60 years?. Its altitude is 1,111m. ?Pic③ In the station we were able to get various wooden materials provided by the local people for woodworking?‍?. They were all free♥. Mom loves woodworking, so we grabbed some of them. ?Pic④ This is the pet-friendly B&B “Eden” where we stayed.? ?We visited the shore to see the beautiful sunset ?through Engetsu Islet in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan??. It’s 130 m from north to south, 35m from east to west, and 25m in height?. There is a full moon-like hole in the middle. Therefore, we call the islet “Engetsu” meaning “Full-moon island.”? It’s been also designated among “Top 100 sunset-viewing spots in Japan”?. Turkish Memorial Museum (Türk Müzesi) is dedicated to an accident at sea in 1890 when a Turkish ship ? ( #ErtuğrulFırkateyni ) crashed on Oshima’s shores. ? The survivors from the ship were cared for by the locals until they could be safely sent back to Turkey. ?We visited “Setagaya MONOZUKURI School (Ikejiri Institute of Design) in Tokyo?since the CEO, one of our traveling cat friends ( @mollsuke_sphynx_cat )?, invited us here. It is the venture incubation office designed to provide a supportive ecosystem to help startups build viable and scalable innovation-driven companies. ?These startups have access to a range of resources including event & co-working space, meeting rooms, ?movie theater, and ?‍?staff advisors, and a community of peers who learn and grow together??‍?‍?‍??‍?‍?‍?.
