“Chatting with summer’s elf” (Virtual reality painting) I live just a few steps from the forest. I went there thousand times, to read, to run or just for a walk… I even painted it on canvas. Nothing special: trees, leaves, lights… Summer is the time of adventures. The time to discover the new places, meet new people. And yesterday I just met her in the same forest. The blue flowers growing in her head issued an unusual fragrance. Her cute pointing ears where aware of any sounds. She stopped singing (in some strange language) and greeted me as a old friend. She has seen me many times already and could tell millions details about me. And I? Spain. Cordoba. Under a bright sun and in the middle of orange trees, a man ask me where I come from.A simple question but very puzzling to me. I’m probably like these oranges. It looks as if they have been in Spain forever, but they are in fact originating from ancient China. The sweet orange is not a wild fruit. It’s a hybrid between a mandarin and a pomelo. In Europe, the Moors introduced them to Spain, in Al-Andalus (Andalusia). They’ve developed the complex irrigation adapted to sustain oranges. Spanish travelers introduced the fruit to America and from there it went to Mexico. It’s the product of a mix of cultures, places and stories. I looked at the man, smiled and said: I come from everywhere;-) There is always now. There is no yesterday or tomorrow. There is this minute, the present that we are living, at this precise moment at this exact place.
