Nézegess epikus fotókat a legnagyobb vikingfesztiválról

Évente több ezren keresik fel a Shetland-szigeteken található Lerwicket, hogy részt vegyenek az Up Helly Aa fesztiválon, mely a térség viking örökségét és hagyományait ünnepli.

Ilyenkor a helyiek viking ruhába bújnak, szárnyas sisakban masíroznak végig a városon fejszékkel és pajzsokkal. Az egész napos ünnepség sötétedés után fáklyás menettel folytatódik, a viking hajó felé. A vízre eresztett gályára fáklyát dobnak, a fesztivál leglátványosabb része a lángba borult hajó. Mindezt hajnalig tartó mulatság követi, természetesen viking módra.
