De az talán okot ad a reményre, hogy A Bold Type sorvezetője Joanna Coles, a Cosmopolitan főszerkesztőjének élete és tapasztalatai, de nem ő lesz a főszereplő, hanem három fiktív újságírócsaj, akik ugyan nem New Yorkból származnak, de itt akarnak karriert csinálni, magyarul meghódítani a várost.
