Thanks for sharing your story @misspatticake Unconditional love can take many forms. Today Mom told Popcorn, “who knew such a cute little dog, could bring one person such joy?” My heart explodes every time I hear her talk to Popcorn about what a good dog she is and how happy she makes her. The love, happiness and joy in her heart with Popcorn is contagious. Watching my Mom with Popcorn not only shows me what an amazing Mom she is, but also gives me an insight into how she is feeling about things. I will hear her describe how Popcorn is feeling, “Wow Popcorn you must be SO tired” and it tells me that she is tired. I also hear her talking to Popcorn and processing feelings, “Popcorn, you must feel so safe here at Patti and Devin’s because they are SO nice.” It also gives her a responsibility to keep Popcorn safe and we even bring her into places that we go, which helps keep Mom safe admits Covid as she is not touching things. 😷 Popcorn is a great sister (we decided that is her relation to me because Mom is a Mom to us) and a perfect companion for my Mom.
