A wise mentor taught me once that when you succeed you must party and when you fail you must ponder. All greatness comes from pondering. You never come up with great ideas at a party but when you sit and ponder you make new distinctions and come up with new ideas that will change you. If you begin doing things the other way around you will be lost. Teaching your body that you will be treated for failure and ponder at success is a sure way to subconsciously sabotage yourself in the future. When you fail you must ponder and when you succeed you must party ? A Story of Darkness vs. The Light: All the darkness in the universe could never put out the light of a single candle. The darkness wants to take over all things but knows that it is not strong enough to smother the light. So it must use illusions to trick the candle into putting itself out since the darkness has no real strength over it. It comes off as all encompassing and terrifying in hopes the candle will become fearful and quit. The darkness invites the candle to join it as darkness; Whispering promises of power, to be everything and have everything so that it will maybe be lured into its own demise. The darkness will even go so far as to hide other candles from it to make it feel lonely, poke at it and make it not feel so bright. This can all become terrifying for the candle because as it peers down the shaft of its wax and sees the darkness, it will always feel like it is burning down into it, that there isn’t much time left until it reaches the edge of its light and is met by darkness. But these are all tricks of the darkness and if it will only keep burning, it will continue to see that there is always more wax hiding past the edge of its light, that there will always be more wick, and that it and every other candle faces the same darkness in many forms and in that way, unite to light the way for many more to come. A couple nights ago I was speaking to a spiritual mentor of mine about feelings and they said to me: feelings are Shepards that are trying to take you back to the place they call home. If you choose to follow the Shepard of fear then you will end up in a place where the whole world appears to be fearful and something to be afraid of. However, follow the Shepard of gratitude or excitement, and you will be transported to a place where everything is something to be grateful for. Everything is exciting.
