On the days you’ve missed a training session, don’t think you might as well give up. It’s 1 training session. It’s not over yet. On the nights you’ve over eaten or indulged outside your calories, don’t think you might as well give up. It’s 1 meal. It’s not over yet. On the mornings you wake up with a god almighty hangover from the night before, don’t think you might as well give up. It’s 1 hangover. It’s not over yet. Creating a new routine that requires more discipline than you are used to takes time and more so persistence. There is an uncomfortable period of adjustment that may involve some initial set -backs. But please don’t stop! I promise you, I truly promise you. A fit and healthy body will give you a level of freedom, power and happiness you never knew existed. Now that is worth fighting for. ‘The Fountain of Youth’ Are you chasing it? I turned 47 a few months ago. It really does seem hard to believe and to be honest, in some respects I don’t feel anything like it. I am fitter, stronger, healthier and have more energy than I ever did in my 20’s, but with the added bonus of wisdom and maturity. They say age is just a number, and I guess in some ways I would agree. But if I’m going to be completely transparent, it still bothers me in some aspects. Am I obsessed with my age? No. But what I am obsessed with is feeling ‘ALIVE’ like I did in my youth. 💕Where you are constantly excited about the future. 💕Where you look forward to waking up every morning and experiencing a full life. 💕Where the thought of a rockin’ a new outfit on a Saturday night gets you pumped. 💕And the thrill of new adventures is what makes you tick. I took a sabbatical in my 30’s and just existed. In fact for those who know my full story, I didn’t even do that well. At 39 I was forced to make major life changes, all of which I contribute to putting me in the tip top psychological and physical condition that I am today. But what I unassumingly discovered when I started investing in myself again, is that all of the wonder and excitement of youth returned threefold. So what did I do? ✌️I moved. I literally busted my arse and exercised my body back into shape and pushed myself through barriers that were holding me back in all aspects of my life. Training gave me fitness and better health and ultimately a better functioning body. ✌️I ate differently. Fuelling my body with nutrients and fuel that would compliment what I was doing with my training allowed me to see benefits on the outside and feel them even more so on the inside. I was no longer running on 91 unleaded, it was now 98 premium. ✌️I looked after my skin and appearance. Besides the introduction of the ‘3 litre of water’ rule per day, I went back to daily moisturising, never letting my leg hair grow longer than a week, applying a face mask every Sunday night and making sure that when I walked out that door every morning, I had made a concerted effort. The importance of positive ‘Self-Talk’. Hey….you….yes, you. I just wanted to let you know. I think you’re pretty cool. I admire your self discipline and the respect you have found for yourself. I love how you’ve trained yourself to keep busy when your mind is playing tricks with you. I see how hard you work to be a better person every day and make your family proud. I applaud the way you have transformed the destiny of your family by taking control of your own life. I also know that your biggest fear is ever being as lost as you once were. And most of all, I know sometimes you think that what you’re doing is not enough. But I’m here to tell you it is. I also want to tell you I’ve got your back. If you fall I’ll catch you. I know you. Because I’m the old you, still tucked away inside. Far enough away to not feel my presence, but closer enough for you to remember how far you’ve come. Self reflection. #sober #recovery #alcohol #epidemic #addiction #dependency #sobermovement #bethechange #mentalhealthawareness #anxiety #ocd #type1D #type1Dathlete#healthymindhealthybody #onelife #fitlife #onlinecoach #mentor #writer #model #fitmum #fitover40 #livingnotjustbreathing

We’re all human. We all slip up from time to time, but the most common mistake we make when it comes to committing to a goal is how we react when we stumble. When we stray the most important thing to do is look in the mirror and ask why. How did it happen? What can I do to prevent this happening again? 🔹The more you justify your faux pas the less value it holds. 🔹The less value it holds the more likely you are to do it again. 🔹The more frequently you do it the further away you are from where you want to be. Then inevitably you tell yourself it doesn’t really matter anyway. My own personal faux pas was a culmination of all of the above. A tsunamis of excuses, sadness, desperation and in the end the only person that could save myself was me. Little by little I took accountability. The person on the left had a lifestyle that was miserable, unmanageable and seeing her into to an early grave. The one on the right radiates happiness , internal peace and coping mechanisms to take life by the horns. I’m taking on new clients for my online 12 Week VIP Program on 29th June. Places are limited and they are already filling fast.
